GSN “Game Show Network” Sony Pictures Entertainment joined United Video Satellite Group to launch The Game Show Channel On May 7, 1992, which would launch in 1993.
The Game Show Network, the only 24-hour cable channel in the United States US dedicated to game shows and connected game playing, was founded in 1995. Its ratings were a bit high, and the network said it captivated a growing number of observers. Its goal was to develop the number of Show it offered on Game Show Network and to increase its viewer base from 30 million subscribers to 50 million within three years.

For many of us, Game Show Network is a part of life as we have been watching them since childhood, and we have been watching with our parents and grandparents since childhood. So, chatting with Game Show Network’s Senior Manager of Multiplatform Scheduling and Programming, Heather O’Neill, and learned that she’s also a lifelong fan!
“I remember watching the game show all the time on summer vacation,” Heather recently told Game Show Insider. “I’ve always loved them!” Heather graduated from Arizona State University and has been a Game Show Network employee since 2013. What have you learned?
They love shows the whole family can watch together, so GSN keeps that in mind. They like consistency, so GSN ensures the same thing is being promoted daily. And they want new, so we always try to put something new in the schedule. GSN ramped up original program production over the past few years. Game Show Networks is constantly creating new things!
What are some other highlights besides the original?
Many people know us as the Family Feud Network, so Family Feud is a big one. We love Steve Harvey. He is a significant presence on our air.
